I have been a nursing home administrator for decades.   And I know placing a parent in a nursing home is a difficult decision.  The seniors do not want to go, the families do not want their parent to go, the government cannot afford to fund the programs consistent with public expectations, and even the staff are so underpaid they often leave before they develop their skill set.  The system is so broken; it is part of a national debate.
